ParticipantJust a shout out to a great event that Tommy put on yesterday. Lots of cool guitars and amps and lots of stretching by everyone (except for probably Tommy). It went like this: When Tommy called you up he asked what you wanted to play. “How about a box shuffle in G to start.” “Okay great, Swing blues in Eb…1,2 uh 1,2,3,4.” Next guy looking for a Stroll got the pleasure of blues in Fm.
I hope this doesn’t come off as a little harsh, it was quite the opposite. Everyone got to play and play outside themselves…what learning a stretching is all about and everyone had a great time. And I think Tommy really knew what each of us were capable of. It was a great time and a great format…seems that there are lots of blues jams around, but I don’t hear about a lot of swing jams.
And Tommy even got to take a ride on Rose Room…the song that had the room, well…it was like not doing your homework in high school and trying to not let the teacher see you hoping he/she doesn’t call on you.

ParticipantYes, it was a great jam. Need to work on a few more chord progressions before the next one.

KeymasterThanks guys. Was such a great way to spend a Sunday. Yesterday is an aspect of playing I love. We all have these goals of playing past our abilities, but sometimes it’s hard to want to to do that in a public forum. I hope it was completely comfortable for everyone, moreover I hope people will want to do this again. I couldn’t ask for a better crew of folks to jump down this rabbit hole with me.

ParticipantThis is a jam I will never forget. We all need to challenge ourselves, push ourselves, and Tommy provides the direction and encouragement for that. I had a great time, and learned a lot about myself in the process. Time to set some new goals and build some friendships with other players that want to strive to be the best they can be…..thanks Tommy..!

KeymasterThat jam was pretty killer! I had a blast. Let’s make this happen again at the end of summer.
