I haven’t picked this up, but I will probably very soon. I’ve always believed that the music we like especially from the 30’s is regionally influenced. I am curious what this book is all about.
It looks like a lot of work put into that book. I was looking at a book for sale the other day, widely available at several places, called
Trading Licks: Charlie Christian & T-Bone Walker.
In the description it mentions that they were both influenced by the Kansas Territory blues bands. I might have to look at the book you mentioned to find out what that’s about or maybe someone here knows. I’d never heard that before but it might be common knowledge to music historians and fans. What are the bands he refers to?
