I’m no sure if it’s srv they hate I think it’s the srv clones. The guy was a one off and i think he put blues back on the map and I doubt if you’ll ever see the likes of him again.

It is really difficult to pin down just one player as it does change over the years. In my youth I listened more to blues / rock then worked my way back to the early players and stayed there. At the moment I’m listening to and learning a lot of t-bone walker and kid ramos tunes. I think kid is a master of the t-bone style.

I like grant greens playing bluesy as hell. You can pick him out a mile when he’s playing along with others. Really love grantstand album. No listened to him ages. Need to his albums out.

I agree I’ve got that book it’s good for getting your reading up to scratch. Even If you learn just a few of Charlie’s solos you can see he was constantly anticipating the chords when he took a solo.

My family are originally from Ireland county Cavan and Donegal came over here at the time of the famine. GalwAy is a great music county. I was over at a friends a few weeks ago it was great. Top class players every where. Some top notch Celtic guitarist too. Jim Murray plays with Sharon Shannon. Paul mc sherry , john Doyle , seamie o’dowd.

I got dukes blues album when it first came out loved it but drifted away from playing and listening to that style as I’ve been playing in a band doing classic country stuff like the way bill kirchen does it but not as good obviously. just recently discovered kid Ramos, jnr Watson and tommy and it’s really got me back into it and even changing my way of thinking of how I play the guitar more towArds the chord shapes when soLoing.

Thanks for the info. I see the vox does one with a greenback speaker or a alnico blue speaker. Really sorry for my ignorance regarding technical stuff but have you any idea what difference would that make
