Thanks for the suggestions, Grez. (By the way, you make badass guitars!) Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the BG pups come with a gold cover option. I’ve been doing more research and I’ve narrowed it down to either the GFS Mean 90 or the (much more expensive) Fralin P90 humbucker.
Is there anybody out there that can offer some advice? Should I go the inexpensive route or invest? I’ve read a lot of good reviews on both, but I’m sure the Fralins are in another league all together.

Thanks, Tommy. I checked out the gfs p90s. They’re only 30 bucks! Let’s see…should I get a pair of those or is it worth it to spend three times as much on the Lollar CC neck pickup?

Hey everybody. I’m hoping you guys can offer some advice. I’ve got a Washburn J6 from the early 90s and I’m thinking about replacing the pickups. Lollar makes a CC pickup in a humbucker housing that would surely be a huge improvement to the guitar. Would it be foolish to put a $175 pickup in a $600 guitar? I like the feel of the neck on the Washburn and the instrument has a much better build quality than some other guitars in its price range. I’m not quite ready to invest in a vintage instrument but I’d like to get closer to that sound. Any words of wisdom?
